• The size marks are stamped next to each step to ease the use. The drill bit has two-flute tip. It has flute on both sides. Two-Flute tips make the penetration faster without chipping.
• The three pieces of step drill bits cover 28 hole sizes. Their size and dimension are as following: 3/8" shank with 9 hole sizes: 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", with 1/16" increments; 1/4" shank with 13 hole sizes: 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4", 9/32", 5/16", 11/32", 3/8", 13/32", 7/16", 15/32", 1/2", with 1/32" increments; 1/4" shank with 6 hole sizes: 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", with 1/16" increments.

The step drill bit is made with M35 cobalt. It is ideal for variety of materials from stainless steel, metal, plastic, fiberglass to wood. They also help to enlarge existing holes. M35 HSSCo is a high speed steel alloy made up of 5% cobalt. M35 is similar to M2, but with 5% cobalt added. The addition of cobalt increases heat resistance. It is widely used in metal manufacturing because of its ability to resist wear over conventional high speed steels, allowing for shorter cycle times in production environments due to higher cutting speeds or from the increase in time between tool changes. M35 is also less prone to chipping when used for interrupted cuts.
